Your First Visit

At West Jersey Oral, Maxillofacial, & Dental Implant Surgery, we strive to make your experience comfortable and informed from the very beginning. Your initial appointment will be a comprehensive consultation with one of our board-certified surgeons. This visit is a valuable opportunity for us to establish a diagnosis, discuss your treatment options, and answer any questions you may have in a supportive and unhurried environment.

What to Bring

To help make your first appointment as efficient as possible, please assist us by providing the following items:

  • Your surgical referral slip and any recent X-rays from your referring dentist.
  • A complete list of all medications you are currently taking.
  • Your dental and medical insurance cards.
  • A valid government-issued photo ID.

For Patients Under 18

All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for their consultation visit and all subsequent treatment appointments.

What to Expect

During your first appointment, you will meet with your surgeon to review your medical history and discuss your specific concerns. They will perform a thorough oral examination to arrive at a diagnosis and will then walk you through your personalized treatment options.

While surgery can sometimes be performed on the same day as the consultation, a complex medical history or treatment plan may require a second appointment. Please be sure to alert our office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or a history of artificial heart valves and joints. A preoperative consultation is mandatory for any patient undergoing IV anesthesia.
